Cosplay Showdown @ Chingay 2010

Wow, there’s like Cosplay competitions and events one after another! Chingay this year is going to incorporate COsplay in as well. I have no freakin idea how they are going to pull it off, probably get the cosplayers to do some catwalk procession? idk. Anyway, below are the contest information =)

Participate in the first-ever Cosplay Showdown organised by PA and Path Productions at the Chingay PAssion PAsar. Showcase your cosplay talents on stage with your best outfit. Winners can anticipate walking away with great prizes!

SCHEDULE

Selection Round
Date: Fri, 19 Feb 2010
Time: 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Venue: Chingay PAssion PAsar
              Promenade between Pit Building and Singapore Flyer

Final Round
Date: Sat, 20 Feb 2010
Time: 3pm to 4.30pm
Venue: Chingay PAssion PAsar
              Promenade between Pit Building and Singapore Flyer

FORMAT

Contestants have to mimic the voice, appearance, dressing and manner of the character they are cosplaying in a 2-min stage presentation.

What to do on stage:
1) Do a self-introduction of yourself and the character you are cosplaying
2) Pose the movements and stunts of the character

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Costume/Dressing Accuracy
• Showmanship
• Self-introduction
• Overall Presentation

12 contestants will be selected from the Selection round on Fri, 19 Feb and proceed into the Final Round on Sat, 20 Feb.

JUDGING CRITERIA

• Costume/Dressing Accuracy 30%
• Impersonating skill 30%
• Self-introduction 20%
• Overall Presentation 20%

PRIZES

• Champion: Attractive prizes worth $1,000
• 1^st Runner Up: Attractive prizes worth $800
• 2^nd Runner Up: Attractive prizes worth $500

All winners can expect to win great prizes like Cos'Tasia vouchers, Kodak camera, customisable photo portfolio, Chingay medallions, and many more!

Registration form is available for download.

Registration forms should be submitted with copy of NRIC, Employment Pass or Student Pass (for foreign students).

Upon successful registration, an acknowledgement email will be sent via email to the ambassadors /contestant's email address submitted on the registration form.
